Our Opportunity
Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge mine is located on the traditional lands of Nyamal peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R FIFO, FIFO ex. Perth
We are seeking a highly motivated Mining Engineer to join the Short Term Planning team at Iron Bridge Operations. This permanent position is on 8:6 roster with a highly competitive remuneration package.
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer – Short Term Planning, this role is responsible for short-term production scheduling and delivering the 2-week mine plan to the required standards in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short-term (2-week) mining schedules to support safe and efficient production.
- Create weekly drill, blast, and ore blend plans to meet production and quality targets.
- Optimise haulage schedules, waste dump designs, and material movements across the mine.
- Produce and manage key planning outputs, including mine plans and schedule updates.
- Work closely with mining operations to ensure plans are practical, aligned, and successfully executed.
- Prepare short-term infrastructure designs and provide planning support for daily mining activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in production scheduling, mine planning, or design engineering within open-pit mining (iron ore preferred).
- Proficiency with mine planning software such as Vulcan and Alastri (Haul Infinity, APS), along with MS Office.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and operational teams.
