We are looking for an enthusiastic Mine Geologists to join our Mine Technical Services Team. This is a great opportunity for a Mine Geologist to provide accurate geological, grade and predictive metallurgical information critical for the success of the mining operation. Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will be:
- Involved in monitoring reconciliations between predicted and actual grade and tonnes and providing accurate ore delineation and grade estimations to facilitate short to medium term planning
- Ensuring compliance with QAQC standards for geological data collection, integrity and interpretation
- Undertaking a variety of geology project work
- Providing geological input into material attribute characteristics and improvements.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor of Science in Geological Science/Earth Science or equivalent (Geology) with practical experience in mine geology
- Demonstrated mine geology experience with an understanding of Geo-metallurgy OR exploration and evaluation techniques
- Current WA "C Class" Driver’s License
- Experience with geological data collection, validation, interpretation and QAQC
- Demonstrated knowledge of mining/mapping and modelling software packages (preferably LeapFrog, Vulcan, ArcMap and acquire)
- Excellent communication skills and drive for continuous improvement
- A strong safety mindset

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers Fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
