About the role: An opportunity exists for an experienced Mine Monitoring & Control Superintendent to join our Coppabella Moorvale Mine. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of three open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay producing coking and low to mid-volatile PCI coal for export markets.

As the Mine Monitoring & Control Superintendent, you will be responsible for the Mine Monitoring and Control Dispatching team and Fleet Management System including monitoring and affecting repairs to Mine Monitoring & Control (MMC) systems hardware and in-pit network communications. You will also lead a number of contractors engaged in installation and repairs to the mines radio systems and infrastructure, communications systems and other key control systems. This role is also responsible for ensuring a high availability of hardware associated with the MMC systems.
Duties will include:
- Promote and maintain high safety performance through personal commitment and application of policies and procedures
- Monitor, coordinate and report on various aspects of open cut operations, including personnel, Mobile and Fixed Assets
- Communicate and share equipment reliability improvement/concerns
- Monitor hardware performance and decide corrective actions in consultation with production/maintenance teams.
- Coordinate MMC hardware maintenance work on equipment.
- Work with the supervisory team to reduce the impact of hardware repairs on the production process.
- Analyse data collected to find efficiencies in areas such as manning, shift downtime, equipment utilisation and productivity
- General administration and communications

About You:
The successful candidate will have substantial mine monitoring and control supervisory experience along with the following:
- Preferred Trade Certificate Auto Electrical or equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience in a technical maintenance environment.
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Office products.
- Understanding of low voltage electrical circuitry.
- Knowledge of MMC Systems, particularly Leica Geosystems products.
- Understanding of wireless networks.
- Experience with two-way communications networks.
- Strong commitment to safety and a way of life
