About the Role

An exciting leadership opportunity exists for a Mine Management & Control Superintendent to join the Technical Services team at Coppabella Mine. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will lead the Mine Management & Control function, providing mine control leadership, production reporting, fleet data governance and operational intelligence to support safe, efficient and value-driven mining operations.

Sitting at the centre of site operations, this role connects Production, Technical Services, Maintenance and Operational Technology. You will ensure critical operational information is accurate, timely and meaningful, while developing a capable team and driving improvements across systems, reporting, analytics and mine performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and mentor the Mine Management & Control team, building capability across dispatch, systems, reporting and analytics.
  • Govern fleet management, dispatch and mine monitoring systems to support safe production execution and effective fleet allocation.
  • Deliver accurate daily, weekly, monthly and annual production reporting, dashboards and operational performance insights.
  • Maintain operational data integrity across equipment, materials, locations, delays, activity codes and operator allocations.
  • Lead production reconciliation and clearly communicate material variances between plans, system records and physical outcomes.
  • Drive technology, automation and analytics initiatives that improve safety, productivity and decision quality.
  • Partner with Production, Maintenance, Technical Services, Operational Technology and vendors to optimise systems and processes.
  • Ensure systems, reporting and information controls meet statutory, corporate and site governance requirements.

The Lifestyle

This position is offered on a 9 day fortnight, working Monday to Friday one week and Monday to Thursday the following week, giving you every second Friday off. Choose the arrangement that works for you, with FIFO from Brisbane or DIDO options available.

About You

You are a credible and collaborative mining leader who combines operational understanding with strong analytical judgment. You build trust across functions, develop people, solve complex problems and maintain an uncompromising commitment to safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Significant experience in open cut mining operations.
  • Demonstrated experience with fleet management, dispatch or mine monitoring systems.
  • Experience leading technical or operational support teams.
  • Experience in production reporting, reconciliation, analytics and data governance.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving capability.
  • Capability with business intelligence and operational reporting tools, including Power BI.
  • A current driver licence and the ability to obtain relevant risk management and supervisory competencies
