We are looking for a Mine Operations Coordinator to help lead a team of operators to ensure safety, people and production targets are met.

This role is a great opportunity for somebody who has a strong focus on people, safety and work management and is looking for that next step into a leadership role.

Reporting to the Mine Ops Supervisor and working a 4,5,5 day/night lifestyle roster at Amrun, you will be:

  • Leading, coaching and supporting an operations team with their day-to-day operations.
  • Providing visible leadership and driving the safety culture.
  • Participating in the measuring, analyzing and recommendation of process improvements.
  • Leading by example, communicating effectively, and ensuring values of the business are adhered to.
  • Assisting with the coordination of production activities through efficient use of fixed plant assets
  • Assisting with the monitoring of performance of the shift production targets and taking appropriate action to maintain the production requirements.

  • A 'C' class driver’s license. High Risk Work License would also be advantageous
  • Computer literacy, including exposure to Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of SAP or similar system would be advantageous

 What we offer

This position is a residential role in Weipa. The successful applicant may be supported with relocation if coming from outside of Weipa and will go onto a housing waitlist for company housing. This position is based at Amrun so you will travel from Weipa to Amrun and stay at camp at Amrun whilst you are on shift. The shift pattern is 5 days, 4 off, 5 nights, 5 off, 4 days, 5 off continued.

Where you’ll be working

Our Weipa operations in Far North Queensland includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, shiploaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals.Amrun, our newest mine, was completed in 2018 and will extend our Weipa bauxite operations by decades, significantly building on our 55-year history on the Western Cape, and providing jobs and supporting business growth in the region. The mine is located on traditional land. We work closely with the Traditional Owners to implement our agreements, ensuring that the benefits generated from mining support future generations and that important cultural heritage sites are identified and preserved.
