About the role

In the role of Rehabilitation Supervisor, you will primarily be responsible for safely supervising and developing the Rehabilitation C Crew.  As part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for planning and executing a diverse works program including (but not limited to) seed collection and processing, weed control, nursery production, Remote Pilot Aircraft Systems (drones), irrigation and other community related activities.

This role is being offered on an 8 Days on, 6 Days off Roster, FIFO from Darwin/Cairns or Residential on Groote Eylandt on a full-time ongoing basis. 

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Safely plan and execute the Rehabilitation Crew works program to meet or exceed best practice mine rehabilitation standards
  • Coach Rehabilitation Crew employees to meet both their full individual and team potential
  • Ensure all operators are trained and competent to meet or exceed GEMCO requirements prior to commencing works
  • Plan and implement annual, 3 monthly, monthly and weekly work schedules
  • Develop and maintain systems to demonstrate Rehabilitation Crew historic, current and future performance
  • Being a strong team player by supporting, mentoring and developing others within the wider Rehabilitation team
  • Provide leadership to employees and contractors in relation to complying with the S32 training and HSE requirements
  • Supervise contractors to safely and efficiently execute seed collection, weed management, aerial seeding/spraying, RPAS (drone), monitoring and other rehabilitation activities.

About you

You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic; and have a passion and commitment to be part of a high-performing and dynamic team. You will have the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment, with demonstrated experience in natural resource management industries.

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • Demonstrated experience and qualifications working, training or supervising within Mine Rehabilitation, Environmental, Fire Management or other Natural Resource Management fields.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous employees or trainees will be advantageous
  • Excellent record keeping, planning, project and time management skills
  • Licences and competencies to effectively supervise
  • Sound mechanical knowledge and ability to fault find and diagnose for repairs
  • Develop and maintain systems to demonstrate Rehabilitation Crew historic, current and future performance
  • Operate computer systems including;
    • Microsoft Office Tools
    • Global 360 or like safety systems
    • ARCGIS
    • SAP
  • NT Drivers Licence or ability to obtain
