Mine Development Excavator Operators

Work Location: Cloudbreak

  • Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

Roster:2/2 – FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

We are seeking Mine support / Mine development operators with significant civil excavator experience.

Reporting to the Supervisor Mine Development, you will perform machine operating activities to ensure that associated Mining infrastructure such as haul roads and access roads remain operational, accessible, and safe and carry out other miscellaneous Earthworks / Earthmoving as required.

 Key accountabilities will include:

  • Demonstrate safe working behaviours in all activities.
  • Ensure compliance with FMG and rail safety and environmental processes and procedures.
  • Completing all planned and unplanned maintenance tasks effectively and efficiently ensuring minimal rework.
  • Ability to follow work instructions.
  • Maintain active involvement in achieving planned maintenance schedules.
  • Participate in problem solving activities.
  • Report concerns and issues regarding road maintenance activities to your supervisor in a timely manner.

 Qualifications and skills required:

  • Current Australian Driver Licence
  • HR Licence Preferable
  • Demonstrated experience on mobile plant including Excavator 30 to 50T, Grader 14M & 16M, Articilated Dump trucks and Water Carts.
  • Ability to use initiative and work within a small team.
  • Good problem-solving capability.
  • Traffic management certification preferred
