About the role

The Mine Trainer (Trainer Assessor) role is a customer facing position and the successful candidate must be able to work and communicate across all levels of the organisation with an ability to adapt to changing mine priorities and plans. 

The role works a permanent 8/6 Thursday to Thursday rotating shift roster (12.5 hours shifts), FIFO from either Townsville or Brisbane.

Reporting to the Superintendent Training, you will play a key role in welcoming and training new personnel to work within our surface and underground mining operations.  Training extends to all facets of the operation such as but not limited to:

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Training new to industry personnel how to operate heavy machinery;
  • Equipment verification of competencies (VOC’s);
  • Development & deployment of training packages
  • Ongoing crew training through to;  
  • Identifying & executing process improvement opportunities 
  • Provide input to training budget for site compliance requirements.
  • Plan and schedule training within budget requirements.
  • Coordinate logistics for training activities including venues and equipment.
  • Maintain personnel training records in the Learning Management System (LMS) and document repository system (Sharepoint)
  • Co-ordinate off-site training for personnel
  • Coordinate training in conjunction with Supervisors and Superintendents where applicable to develop a Training Schedule to suit operational needs
  • Create and distribute the training schedule for each designated/allocated Crew

About you

  • Enterprise Trainer & Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00015) minimum
  • Certificate IV Training & Assessment (TAE40116) highly regarded
  • S123 (QMS) Site Supervisor, Work at Heights, First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Underground mining experience
  • High Risk Work Licenses highly regarded but not essential
  • Other heavy equipment qualifications and experience highly regarded (i.e. elevated work platforms, forklifts, cranes & hoists)
  • 2+ years’ experience in a training role or similar with experience delivering classroom and in field, practical training & assessing
  • Experience developing training resources which are adaptable to different learning styles and audiences
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Management System {LMS}, SharePoint)
  • High level of organisational skills including the capacity to set priorities and work to dynamic deadlines.
