ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position working a 40-hour week DIDO from Boddington.
As Minesite Rehabilitation Engineer the purpose of this role is provide expertise, coordination and management in the creation and communication of all short-term mine development and mine site rehabilitation plans and designs (weekly up to 2 years with a focus on forest harvest and clearing, landform designs for mine site rehabilitation, and pit enabling activities). Includes schedules, plans, designs and reporting for the operations to enable the effective completion of production, development and rehabilitation activities.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Mine Planning for the orderly progression of the mine by ensuring the currency and regular preparation of development mine plans and designs; including optimised clearing, mine-site rehabilitation plans, and optimised landform designs.
- Undertake regular field inspections of mine development and rehabilitation operations.
- Ensure all plans and designs reflect current mining strategies and comply with all relevant approval conditions and legislation.
- Engagement with key stakeholders, internally and also external stakeholders required of the role; including Dept of Biodiversity, Conservations and Attractions and Forest Products Commission as required.
ABOUT YOU
- You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a technical role in mining sector
- Experience in surface mining operations. Previous mine planning, mine site clearing or mine site rehabilitation planning experience desirable.
- Previous experience in the use of mine planning and design tools including landform design and engineering, including Maptek Vulcan, ESRI ArcGIS or similar is desirable.
- Proven capability to operate in a complex environment, leading and facilitating diverse teams.
- Relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills with coordination capability.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or Landform/Mining Engineering or related discipline.
