Mining Autonomous Technician

Roster: 7D/7N/14R – FIFO ex Perth
A fantastic new role in Fortescue’s Mobile Maintenance Division for AMS - Autonomy Technician has recently arisen. The role is accountable for providing the day-to-day maintenance on our connected assets including our autonomous haulage and drilling fleets, in line with a best practice maintenance strategies.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Install and configure hardware, electrical and network technology systems for a number of our mobile assets
- Calibrate and commission the GPS and AHS systems on a number of different heavy and light mobile assets
- Coach and develop employees within the Maintenance team on best practice for maintaining the base machine & technology layer
- Ensure setup of fleet management system is optimised to deliver maximum fleet efficiency and meet Mine Plan requirements
- Undertake fault diagnosis and repairs on Caterpillar, Epiroc, Flanders technology products.
- Workshop and pit duties
- Work in conjunction with all mobile maintenance teams to achieve 100% schedule compliance.
- Ensure FMG and site operations procedures and policies are followed.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Mechanical Fitter or Auto electrician Trade Certificate with a minimum 2 years’ experience. 240V Electricians will be considered.
- Demonstrated windows-based IT systems knowledge and understanding of networking principles
- Experience working in a heavy mobile mining environment on related base machine or technology layer
- Previous experience with Caterpillar MineStar products is preferred, with Command experience being desired
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and Technical Specifications
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
