Mining Production Coordinator

Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people

Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

Eliwana commenced operations in December 2020 and includes a 30mtpa dry OPF and 143km of rail linking the mine to our Hamersley rail line.

An exciting leadership opportunity exists at Fortescue's newest mine, Eliwana. The Mining Coordinator is a hands-on role with a diverse job scope, supporting our planning and mining teams to achieve the mine plan. Driving efficiencies and continuous improvement, the ideal candidate will thrive in a fast paced environment and be adaptable to change.

Key responsibilities include

  • Promoting a positive, safety-oriented team culture and driving Fortescue's Values
  • Ensuring employees understand and comply with safe systems of work
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing our Mining Supervisors
  • Providing input into mine planning processes and ensure practicality
  • Overseeing effective utilisation of mining fleet and mine plan
  • Identifying improvement opportunities

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Quarry Managers ticket
  • Supervision experience in large scale mining environment
  • Ability to interpret and deliver to 24-hour and 2-week mine plans
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act/Regs
  • Microsoft proficiency, SAP, BMS or similar data and reporting systems
