Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who We’re Looking ForAs a Mining Engineer, you will be a part of the mining engineering team that is focused on the planning and delivery of our future caves.  Cadia is currently in the midst of two underground mine projects.  One block cave that is currently undercutting and a second block cave that is in establishment including footprint development and mass excavation of crusher, transfer, and collections chambers.  

The Mining Engineer will be responsible for delivery of properly evaluated and optimised designs, plans and schedules as well as tracking and reporting on underground activities. You will lead in identifying, reporting, and making recommendations on critical paths and reducing bottlenecks.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Scope and provide inputs into weekly, monthly, and long-term schedules.
  • Collaborating with execution, stakeholders, and the engineering team to maximise effectiveness and optimise delivery of new block caves.
  • Continuous improvement – ability to recognize and influence positive change for the team.

Our ideal candidate will have a relevant Mining Engineering qualification and has completed underground time at a hard rock underground mining operation.

You will also possess the following:

  • Experience at high-rate development operations – specifically on the footprint during block/panel cave establishment – Highly regarded.
  • Exposure to a large-scale underground mining operation
  • Competent in the use of mining software packages
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) towards management and to operational levels.

***Candidates must be able to relocate to Orange, NSW for a 7/7-day shift OR 5/2 roster/s.
