Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who We’re Looking ForAs a Mining Engineer, you will be a part of the mining engineering team that is focused on the planning and delivery of our production block caves.
The Mining Engineer will be responsible for producing the Weekly Schedule and Rolling Monthly Plan (RMP) in line with Execution Schedule and Quarterly schedules. In addition, you will complete compliance reports, including review of weekly and RMP performance.
Other responsibilities include:
- Assist in identifying, reporting, and making recommendations on Critical paths, bottlenecks, and key milestones
- Continuous improvement – ability to recognize and influence positive change for the team. Manage balance between bottom up / real time inputs and cascading of medium-term plans to produce a weekly tactical execution plan
- Engagement with Operation and Integrated Planning to align optimised delivery of the short and medium-term plans
- Drive / push importance of meeting objectives in the plan and drive accountability
- Process safety – mitigation of major hazards across planning processes
- Management and continuous improvement of production dispatch and data systems
- Implementation of improvement projects for production activities
- Cave Draw compliance reporting
- Documentation of production dispatch, data systems manual and improvement projects (scope, project execution plan, schedule, status updates etc)
Our ideal candidate will have a relevant Mining Engineering qualification and has completed underground time at a hard rock underground mining operation.
You will also posses the following:
- Qualified Mining Engineer with relevant experience in scheduling, preferably with exposure to large scale underground mining operations
- Competent in the use of Deswik mining software packages
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) upwards and to operational levels
- Ability to think strategically and effectively collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders
- The ability to work autonomously
***Candidates must be able to relocate to Orange, NSW for 5/2 roster. (9-day fortnight available)
