Our Cadia operation in MINING PROJECTS is now recruiting for the position of MINING ENGINEER.

Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who We’re Looking For
As a Mining Engineer, you will be a part of the mining engineering team that is focused on enabling the operations teams in the planning and delivery of our future caves.
Utilising your effective communication skills and technical expertise you will collaborate with execution, site stakeholders, and the engineering team to maximise effectiveness and optimise delivery of new block caves.
Other responsibilities include:
- Responsible for delivery of properly completed and reviewed Approved for Construction plans and bogging plans for execution.
- Tracking and reporting on short-term execution activities
- Collaborate with operations leaders for best execution outcomes.
- Scope and provide inputs into weekly and monthly schedules.
- Lead in identifying, reporting, and making recommendations on critical paths and reducing bottlenecks.
- Continuous improvement – ability to recognize and influence positive change for the team.
Our ideal candidate will have a relevant Mining Engineering qualification and have completed underground time at a hard rock underground mining operation.
You will also possess the following:
- Qualified Mining Engineer with relevant experience in scheduling, preferably with exposure to large scale underground mining operations
- Experience at high-rate development operations – specifically on the footprint during block/panel cave establishment – highly regarded.
- A strong commitment to business improvement and maximising performance through bottom-up initiatives – highly regarded.
- Competent in the use of Deswik mining software packages
- The ability to work autonomously.
