ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight at our Boddington Bauxite Mine, which is located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour).

As the Mid-Term Mining Engineer, you will use your engineering expertise to support development of detailed medium term mine plans with clear guidance, ensuring production targets are met while upholding HSECQ standards.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Develop, review, and audit mine designs and schedules
• Provide technical expertise in medium-term mine development and rehabilitation plans (up to ten years)
• Identification of key risks, events and key enabling activities (development path) supporting medium term tactical mine plans
• Collaborate with stakeholders to secure support for annual medium-term mining budgets and plans
• Assist in preparing medium-term mine schedules, including operating, capital, and labour forecasts and budgets

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Experience in strategic and medium-term mine planning and optimisation is valued
• A focus on safety and a passion for continuous improvement
• Previous experience in a similar role, especially in open-cut mining, is preferred
• Familiarity with mine design and scheduling software (e.g., Maptek Vulcan, RPM MinePlanner, and ESRI ArcGIS Pro) is an advantage
• Ability to build strong relationships and networks with stakeholders is important

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (or similar engineering discipline)
