We are looking for a Mining Engineer to provide reliable, accurate and sustainable mine planning services in order to position Mining and Plant Operations for optimal performance aligned with shipping and commercial requirements.
This is a great opportunity to be in a critical which enables the planning team to evaluate scenarios, seize new opportunities, react opportunely to changes caused by internal and external factors and simultaneously maintaining uniformity with the targets set in the Annual Plan.

Reporting to the Operations Planning Superintendent and working in a collaborative community within the Operations Planning team, you will be:
- Transforming the Long-Term plan into operational detail. The fundamental priority behind this is to balance continual delivery of bauxite aligned with customer and shipping requirements.
- Produce the Annual Plan (Production & Development) and subsequent reviews every quarter.
- Providing an updated direction on the mines position to steer the operations back on track following deviations to plan.
- Liaising with relevant stakeholders to obtain adequate inputs for the plan.
- Provide guidance -sequence, shapefiles, maps, targets and grades
- Organising and chair discussions with relevant stakeholders for plan presentation.
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team (standard for all job adverts)
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience within mining operations with experience in productivity improvement
- Excellent numerical analysis and data validation skills
- Preparation of accurate and achievable monthly development plans
- Ability to engage with frontline leaders and key stakeholders to deliver outcomes
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Deswik.
- The motivation and ability to be self-driven and work autonomously
