About the Site

Join the largest autonomous fleet on any coal mine site in the world; Goonyella Riverside is one of five metallurgical coal mines in BHP’s Queensland Portfolio. It operates on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people as an open cut metallurgical coal mine.

About the Role

This is role is offered on an 8/6 work pattern with 10.5hr days FIFO/DIDO with camp facilities 5 minutes from site or residential living arrangement in Moranbah.

As the Drill and Blast Mining Engineer you will be engaged in providing clear direction to the execution teams through mine designs and schedules for the 0 to 12 week time frame.

Leveraging your expertise in mine planning, you will develop effective working relationships with the operational teams to ensure the efficient execution of your plans and schedules. This is a great opportunity to further develop your mine planning skills as you gain exposure to a world class operation through accountability and autonomy of your work tasks. This role is offered on a 8/6 or 4/3 work pattern with FIFO/DIDO or residential living arrangement to suit your lifestyle. About You

As the successful candidate, you will have a tertiary education background in Mining Engineering (or Civil) with previous experience working at an operations level. Your demonstrated experience working in mine planning teams particularly, planning and scheduling for truck and shovel will see you succeed in this role. As well as your strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will have demonstrated ability to build relationships across departments and be able to communicate at all levels. A strong working knowledge of design tools (Deswik/Vulcan), SPRY, Microsoft Office, Xact software packages are desirable. You will also be a performance and achievement oriented professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and providing excellent results.
