Mining Engineer – Medium Term Planning (Design)
Work Location: Solomon - Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R FIFO ex. Perth
Fortescue is currently seeking a highly motivated Mine Planning Design Engineer to work with the Medium Term Planning team at Solomon. This role will be accountable for mine designs relating to the 3 month mine plan.
Key responsibilities include:
- Pit, Waste Dump and Topsoil designs
- Infrastructure Designs including Roads, ROMs, Go Lines, OUDs and Levees
- Management of clearing approvals
- Providing guidance to the short term planning teams
- Assisting 3 month plan scheduler with blast masters, creating solids in Rapid Reserver and updating Haul Infinity model
Qualifications and Experience:
- Mining engineer or equivalent degree
- Planning or Design experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to liaise with a variety of workgroups and backgrounds
- Maptek Vulcan experience (advantageous)
