Job Tasks and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Civil Projects Engineer to join our mine planning team. Moolarben mine is currently in an exciting phase growing to deliver up to mine 16Mt of coal per year from 2023. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the key role responsibilities include:Manage and coordinate rehabilitation landform modelling and planning, working closely with Planning, Production, Project, and Environment teams to ensure completion to design.
- Provide guidance, design and implementation for construction of civil water management structures and assist in site Dam management (including Declared Dams).
- Manage the monitoring and part of the future construction of 2 creek diversions to be built in spoil as part of final landform rehabilitation.
- Work closely with the Mining department, on other projects, being proactive in identifying issues, monitoring outcomes, and providing solutions.
Skills and Experience
- A tertiary qualification preferably in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Mining, Geology, Survey)
- Demonstrated 5 years of experience preferably in a civil, mining, construction and/or contractor environment.
- Experience in civil earthworks with a focus on rehabilitation activities (drainage/shaping) working with contractors would be an advantage.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Vulcan and/or other related surface software.
- Experience in Microsoft products (Excel spreadsheets/databases)
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills
