Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who we’re looking for  

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer – Medium Term Planning, the Mining Engineer – Production Planning will develop and deliver, monthly rolling plan schedules. In addition, you will take ownership of and manage production dispatch and data systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Implementation of improvement projects for production activities.
• Engagement with operations for understanding and implementation of dispatch and data systems.
• Continuous improvement of dispatch and data systems.
• Process safety – mitigation of major hazards across planning processes.
• Cave Draw compliance reporting.
• Documentation of production dispatch and data systems manual.
• Documentation of improvement projects (scope, project execution plan, schedule, status updates)
• Collating and scheduling monthly schedule inputs through stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a safety focus and the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) towards management and to operational levels.

You will also possess the following: 

• Mining engineering degree
• Previous scheduling experience in a mining environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Competent in the use of mining software packages – Highly regarded.

***This is a 5/2 residential role in Orange NSW
