ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a permanent position that is DIDO daily, from our Boddington Bauxite Mine, which is located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes), the City of Mandurah (1 hour) and the City of Armadale (1 hour).

Reporting to the Mine Production Planning Superintendent, you will work collaboratively towards the delivery of high-quality solutions for the production, development and rehabilitation activities at our bauxite mine.

Key responsibilities in this role will include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Provide and implement designs, including pit and dump design, rehabilitation and haul roads
• Use your scheduling skills to produce Short/Medium Term schedules to drive innovative solutions
• Manage the day-to-day relationship with and provide guidance to the Mine Operations team
• Ensure that South32 Health and Safety standards are embedded in all outputs to guarantee everyone goes home safe and well

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

• A commitment to safety and continuous improvement
• Experience in mine design, planning and scheduling surface mining operations
• 1-2 years of prior Mining Engineer/Graduate experience
• Expert with mine design and scheduling software packages (Vulcan and XACT)
• Relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills

Qualifications for this position are:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent with relevant experience)
