Mining Excavator Efficiency Coach
Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
Fortescue is seeking experienced, high-performance loader / excavator / shovel operators to increase operational standards in Eliwana mining. Reporting to the Mining Superintendents, this role will be responsible for upskilling dig unit operators to improve safety and performance standards in dig areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide mentoring and coaching to operators through in-cab training
- Upskill operators to improve;
- Overall safety standards in dig areas
- Instantaneous dig rates
- Average truck payload
- Bench set-up standards
- Work with a back-to-back to standardise dig areas and ensure all dig unit operators are receiving the same information
- Work towards continual improvement and convey efficiency ideas to Mining Coordinators
- Provide dig unit coverage where required
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, speaking to all team members with respect in a coaching role.
Education and Experience:
- Current Australian driver’s licence – Class C or higher
- Demonstrated high performance operation of excavators, shovels and loaders
- Experience and understanding of Loadrite payload system highly regarded
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and relevant industry experience highly regarded
- Broad depth of knowledge and experience in open pit mining including an understanding of geology and dig plans
- Excellent communication skills
