Eliwana

Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

Roster: 2/1 roster (7D,7N,7RNR)

Fortescue is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Mining Operators who has had extensive experience in open pit mining, operating an array of production machinery including,

  • D10T/D11T Dozer
  • 854 Wheel Dozer
  • 16/24M Grader
  • 993/994 Wheel Loader
  • CAT6060 shovel, CAT 6040, Hitachi 3600, CAT 6030 or Hitachi 2500 excavator

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Operating a range of machinery including dozers, graders, loaders and diggers
  • Coaching and mentoring other team members on the safe use of mining equipment
  • Supporting the Mining Supervisor with daily responsibilities
  • Assisting in prestart presentations

 Qualifications and skills required:

  • Ability to skilfully operate a range of big production mining equipment  
  • Mobile equipment operation in the mining industry is esse   ntial
  • Training and mentoring experience would be highly regarded
  • Excellent team building experience
  • Ability to read mine plans
  • Knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act Regs
  • WA Class HR Driver's License
  • Communication and interpersonal skills - two-way operation
