Mining Superintendent
Work Location: Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
We are currently looking for our next experienced leader for our Cloudbreak Mining operations. This Mining Superintendent will be a proven leader in business improvement and change management whilst creating and leading cultural, inclusive and diverse workforces.
You will be a superior Coach for Mining Supervisors and Coordinators to build our leadership capability and set and sustain Fortescue standards and in risk management and Work Health and Safety Legislation 2022.
You will have demonstrated capabilities working across the interfaces of Ore processing, Mobile Maintenance and Mine control system teams.
In addition to this, you will be responsible for the planning and cost forecasting and the management and coordination of plant and human resources to meet or exceed the mine plan in a safe and efficient manner.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Provide and maintain a safe workplace as per WHS Regulations 2022 and Fortescue HSEC system
- Ensure employees understand and comply with safe systems of work
- Conduct thorough investigations into workplace incidents and provide effective feedback to work teams
- Proactively participate in Occupational Health and Safety activities and consultation processes across Mine Operations
- Carry out Quarry Manager duties as required
- Provide input into mine planning processes to ensure mining plans are achievable and allow for safe, efficient and low cost mining
- Provide input to technical services to maximise output and ore recovery at lowest cost over life of mine
- Coach, mentor and develop Mining Supervisors and Mining Coordinators
Qualifications and skills required:
- Substantial experience in a Superintendent role at a large-scale mining operation essential
- WA Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency essential
- Risk Management
