Mining Supervisor
Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.
Roster: 7D/7N/7R – FIFO ex Perth
Our Eliwana Mining Operations team are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced leader that are comfortable working in a remote location and are adaptable to and welcome change.
Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, our Mining Supervisors are responsible for all aspects of Load & Haul functions of conventional open pit mining operation. The role is focused on leading a crew of Operators and working closely with our Drill and Blast team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coach, mentor and develop mining operators
- Provide visible safety leadership by demonstrating safe behaviours all the time and displaying Fortescue values
- Proactively participate in Occupational Health and Safety activities and consultation processes across Mine Operations
- Carry out supervisor responsibilities under Section 44 delegated authority as per WA Mine Safety & Inspection Act and Regulations
- Communicate with stakeholders to execute the daily plans safely and efficiently
- Manage effective utilisation of mining fleet
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in a Mining Supervisor or Leading Hand role
- Extensive experience in operating heavy mining equipment in large scale open pit environment
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written, and computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proven commitment to safety
- Frontline Leadership qualification or similar desirable but not essential
- Strong understanding of efficiency drivers in a large-scale mining operation
- Knowledge of WA Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulation
