We are currently seeking a Mining Supervisor - D&B/Mine Services to join our team at Premier Coal on a 4 on 4 roster - days only.

About the Role

The Drill & Blast Supervisor coordinates the drilling and blasting activities at Premier Coal Mine and the effective operation of plant and personnel within the blasting and drilling crews in consultation with the Mining Superintendents.

The main accountabilities of this role include;

  • Provide direct supervision of the Drill and Blast operations and effectively allocate resources
  • Maintain a safe operation ensuring statutory compliance whilst demonstrating visible safety leadership
  • Provide planning and leadership to co-ordinate Drill and Blast activities for the coal operations
  • Provide support, mentoring and monitor training of Drill and Blast crew
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to reduce costs
  • Delivering agreed KPIs whilst continually maintaining and improving a safe workplace

About You

  • Sound understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of blasting principles and practices relating to drill and blast operations
  • 2+ years experience in a similar role within open pit mining operations
  • Experienced in the provision of drilling and blasting activities within an Open Cut Mining environment
  • Experienced in maintaining communication across a number of departments​​​​
  • Current drivers licence
  • Statutory Supervisor Qualified or willing to obtain
