Support Lead - Mining Systems
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster: Mon-Fri
Reporting to Superintendent Improvements & Support – Mining Systems, this role will be accountable for providing support across Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS), Tele-Remote Mining Systems, working closely with Operational teams and a small team of AHS System Specialists and contractors.
Leading a team of AHS Support Specialist responsible for Mining Systems support and be the primary point of contact between OEM and internal stakeholders for managing system issues/changes and incident investigations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Create, maintain & manage system (FMS & other technology products) support process, standards & best practices.
- Manage product support, systems upskilling and coaching to operational teams.
- Responsible for Mining Systems KPI’s in maintaining FMS systems (& other technology products) uptime and minimise outages.
- Executing Fortescue’s Mining Systems support strategy to develop internal capability with reduced reliance on OEM’s.
- Ensure Mine Control & Mining Teams are supported with safe operating processes and procedures.
- Help establish Advanced Analytics tools to generate insights on system performance that provide best return on investment/time for the business.
- Planning and assisting wider teams in executing FMS upgrades with minimal production impact
- Creating systems and targeted tools to support business stakeholder groups.
- Provide Systems governance including recommendations about setup, configuration, access management, etc.
Qualifications and skills required:
- 3+ years’ experience in supporting or running a Fleet Management System or Operational Platform in mining operations.
- 3+ years hands-on experience with Office based Autonomous Haulage Systems.
- 1-3 years’ experience with Mining Systems (Ex: Autonomous Haulage Systems, Autonomous Drills Systems, Non-Line of Sight Dozers or Tele-remote technologies).
- Ability to facilitate, present and negotiate value add changes across Mining Teams.
- Ability to manage critical conversations.
- Understanding of ITIL service management.
- Advanced computer literacy & passion for Mining Autonomy, Innovation and Technology
- Proficiency of Microsoft SQL, Tableau Software, and Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse is highly regarded.
