Yarrabee Coal Company a wholly owned subsidiary of Yancoal Australia, based in Blackwater Queensland, 2 hours drive west of Rockhampton.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Mobile Maintenance Leading Hand to join our dynamic team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor the Leading Hand is responsible in managing maintenance and breakdowns. Managing machine up and down times, coordinating personnel and keeping Crew Coordinator informed of progress

Roster: 7/7, 12 hour shifts, Rotating Day / Night

About You

As a Mobile Maintenance Leading Hand you will possess the following attributes;

• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent computer skills, word processing and spread sheeting
• Good fault finding skills on heavy mining equipment
• Ability to manage a team and prioritise work loads
• Ability to exercise initiative and work both independently and co-operatively as required
• Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues
• Previous experience in the maintenance of plant and machinery within a mining or heavy industry environment
• Proven previous experience with fault finding on heavy mining equipment
• Experience with managing a team is preferred

Knowledge & Qualifications

• ​​​​​​​Trade Qualified
• S1, S2 and S3 – Supervisor Certificates
• Applicable Coal Competencies
• Current open drivers’ license
• Generic Surface Induction
• Thorough understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations
• Advanced mechanical knowledge on heavy equipment and fault finding
