King of the Hills (KOTH) is the flagship operation of Vault Minerals Limited and one of the largest gold mines in Australia. After a significant expansion, KOTH will feature a 7.5 million tonne per annum (Mtpa) processing plant, providing a solid platform for long-term production growth. This dynamic operation combines open-pit and underground mining, with exciting exploration activities driving the future. KOTH is located approximately 900 km northeast of Perth and 25 km north of Leonora, within the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Manager, the Mobile Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities for mobile plants and equipment to ensure optimal availability, reliability, and cost efficiency. The role works closely with supervisors, trades, and stores to plan and prepare maintenance tasks in alignment with operational requirements, safety standards, and statutory compliance.
This position will be offered on an 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Develop and maintain short, medium, and long-term maintenance schedules for open pit mobile plant equipment.
- Coordinate with operations to plan downtime for servicing, inspections, and component change-outs.
- Review work orders, determine labour and material requirements, and prepare job packages.
- Ensure OEM recommendations and statutory requirements are incorporated into plans.
- Liaise with supervisors, trades, and stores to ensure all parts, consumables, tooling, and documentation are available before work begins.
- Maintain accurate equipment history, maintenance records, and asset registers in the site CMMS (e.g.,Pronto).
- Monitor and report on equipment performance, reliability, and downtime trends.
- Identify and plan for specialised services or contractors when required.
- Support supervisors with shutdown and major component change planning
- Review maintenance processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety outcomes.
- Provide feedback on OEM manuals, work procedures, and planned maintenance strategies.
- Accumulator certificates will be registered and maintained as part of the ongoing classified plant plan register.
About You
- Demonstrated experience as a Maintenance Planner in open pit mining or a similar heavy industry environment.
- Strong understanding of mobile mining equipment (e.g., excavators, dump trucks, loaders, drills, dozers).
- Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Fitting, Mechanical, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of mobile plant maintenance strategies and reliability principles.
- Working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2020 the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
- Demonstrated previous experience working with OEM, Hitachi, and CAT product lines.
- Highly skilled in communication, task prioritisation, and organisational efficiency.
- Proficient use in MS Office suite, maintenance systems and pronto.
- WA Driver’s License (manual C Class)
