About the Role
The BMA Daunia open cut coal mine is located in Central Queensland, Australia. Daunia coal mine is a coal handling process unit, which produces semi-hard coking coal and pulverised coal injection coal. The mine commenced coal production in March 2013 and is expected to have a life of 21 years.
This is a rare opportunity to join an industry leader in Queensland. These opportunities are being offered on a 7/7 basis (nightshift included).
A commitment to zero harm, teamed with high work standards and respect for others is fundamental to our high-performance culture. To be successful for this position you will need to have over eighteen months experience in the mining industry and significant experience with 600t and 400t diggers or with electric shovels, as you will need to be proficient in operating any of the following:
- Caterpillar 7495
- Caterpillar 6060 or 6040
- Hitachi 5600 or 3600
- Caterpillar D11/10T dozers
- Caterpillar 994 Loaders
About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- A high commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail and procedure
- 2 years’ minimum operating experience on large excavators or dozers
- Effective listening and well-developed interpersonal skills
- Have a strong work ethic and be enthusiastic about your role
- Take ownership and accountability of your work area and maintain high standards
- A teamwork mentality to achieve result
- Willingness to learn and be proficient in fleet management systems
- Experience operating Cat Terrain or Command applications or other fleet management and GPS guidance systems will be highly regarded
- Previous AH experience will be highly regarded
