About the Role

Daunia Mine is an Autonomous Haulage open cut coal mine located in Central QLD. This operation is the first Command for Hauling Autonomous site on the east coast of Australia with a fleet of thirty-four 793/797F CAT trucks. These roles will support the nine dig units within the coal and overburden operations across site - operators with AH experience are strongly encouraged to apply. These permanent opportunities are being offered on a 7/7 basis (nightshift included).

We are currently recruiting Multi-skilled Operators for our Mine Services Team and our Load and Haul Team who can operate safely and are confident with at least two of the following equipment options:

• Caterpillar 7495 Shovel
• Caterpillar 6060 / 6040
• Hitachi 5600 / 3600
• Caterpillar D11/10T
• Caterpillar 994 / 992K
• Dozers - CAT D10, D11
• Graders - CAT 14M, 16M, 18M, 24M
• Loaders - CAT 980
• Watercarts - CAT 785, 777
• Scrapers – 637

In addition to an overriding commitment to safety, essential requirements of the role include:

• Demonstrated commitment to ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace including willingness to maintain high standards of safety, equipment serviceability, housekeeping and compliance with site procedures
• A sound technical knowledge and experience in equipment operation
• Continuous improvement mindset and aptitude to learn and acquire new digital and technological skills
• Willingness to proactively contribute ideas to solve problems and improve existing processes and tools.

About you

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

• A high commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail and procedure
• 2 years’ minimum operating experience on large excavators or dozers
• Effective listening and well-developed interpersonal skills
• Have a strong work ethic and be enthusiastic about your role
• Take ownership and accountability of your work area and maintain high standards
• A teamwork mentality to achieve result
• Willingness to learn and be proficient in fleet management systems
• Experience operating Cat Terrain or Command applications or other fleet management and GPS guidance systems will be highly regarded
• Previous AH experience will be highly regarded
