Key Responsibilities

  • Coordination/Scheduling of all freight, Heavy Haulage Moves across Australia fleet and operators throughout direct areas of responsibility.
  • Plan and consolidate loads to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure accurate load planning and documentation to avoid errors and delays.
  • Ensure necessary permits and approvals for heavy haulage moves, including road permits, import / export declarations and police/warden escorts are in place.
  • Ensure compliance with permit conditions and regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of costs associated with heavy haulage moves
  • Daily contract and vendor management.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adequate resources for equipment mobilization and demobilization, facilitating efficient deployment and retrieval.
  • Optimisation of Heavy haulage transport systems/processes.
  • Receive orders and ensure timely delivery within the established tolerances.
  • Notify stakeholders of deviations to schedule or late delivery.
  • Comply with driver Fatigue management and statutory requirements.
  • Compliance to NHVR, and all state territory Heavy haulage regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with heavy haulage moves, such as route closures, weather conditions, and equipment failures.
  • Keep operations informed of any issues which may affect delivery schedule.
  • Comply with company health & safety policies.
  • Develop and execute RFPs/RFQs and relevant processes
  • Provide leadership to drive continuous improvement in spend management processes and implemented tactics to drive compliance across the company
  • Manage supplier contracts and agreements
  • Assure full compliance with all regulations and responsible care guidelines
  • Manage ongoing vendor relationships
  • Coordinate actions with business-specific vendor relationship owners

To Join This Dedicated team, You Will Have:

  • Significant understanding and experience of applicable heavy vehicle legislation.
  • Significant experience with transportation of heavy earthmoving equipment.
  • Knowledge of load configurations, weights, Truck & trailer type allocation, Permits and curfews.
  • Excellent understanding of Heavy Haulage operations including load restraint expertise.
  • Experience in transport scheduling or despatch using computerised scheduling tools.
  • Strong ERP system knowledge (SAP, Pronto, Oracle, AMT).
  • Significant experience using Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook etc.).
  • Resources sector experience highly valued.
  • Experience in optimisation of systems and business processes.
  • Comfortable negotiating with suppliers.
