We are currently seeking an experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to join our team at the Paget Workshop in Mackay. Responsibilities:

  • Analyse machine components for surface and subsurface cracks according to industry standards.
  • Set up, verify, and calibrate NDT equipment before use, ensuring proper operation.
  • Select the appropriate NDT technique, define its application limitations, and perform or supervise tests.
  • Interpret and evaluate results based on relevant codes, standards, and procedures.
  • Compile and report findings accurately, maintaining NDT job files and documentation.
  • Promote and reinforce a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to Force’s Occupational Health and Safety Management Plan.
  • Build and maintain relationships across the business to secure new work and expand the current portfolio.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Unrestricted rights to work in Australia (mandatory). Please note: We are not offering visa sponsorship.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience conducting Non-Destructive Testing.
  • Level 2 certification in Magnetic Particle Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, and Dye Penetrant Testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, compile reports, and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • High-risk licence – Forklift (advantageous).
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs; SAP familiarity is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing standards and best practices.
  • Good understanding of Australian & ISO Standards.
  • Additional qualifications in PT, RT, PAUT, PVI, and/or Welding Inspection are desirable.
