Job Tasks and Responsibilities

 Reporting to the Construction Superintendent, the role will require you to manage earthworks and civil construction projects from engineered concept to hand-over and hard bid projects from award to hand-over, ensuring a through a Civil Engineering management approach that cost, quality and time specifications are met. 

The role will require you to:

• Effectively lead and manage the engineering aspects of earthworks-civil construction projects and associated administration from concept to hand-over for D&C projects and award to hand-over for hard bid projects, both within quality, cost, safety and time frames by ensuring accurate preparation and implementation of all relevant tasks are carried out in accordance with both Company and external requirements, legislation and regulations.
• Effectively manage scheduling and programming to ensure that the contract scopes remain on time and within budget specifications.
• Assist the Construction Superintendent in the day to day contractor management and decision making regarding contractors program logic and site activities.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship with Open Cut, CHPP and Underground project teams.
• Actively consult with engineers and other technical team members to ensure that design intentions are achieved.
• Assist in the negotiation and management of the efficient supply of labour and materials within scope of accountability and ensure the quality standard required is maintained.

Skills and Experience

Essential criteria:

• Civil Engineering Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years site experience in brown and green field civil construction projects
• Solid construction industry knowledge 

• Senior First Aid Certificate
