We are looking for an Occupational Health Nurse to support Rio Tinto’s Bell Bay operation in the provision of health & wellness services and injury management, alongside a team of health and safety professionals.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to assist in driving a strong health and wellbeing program. This opportunity can be offered as either a full-time position or as a part time/job share position where you could work either 2 or 3 days per week.

Reporting to the Occupational Health Team Leader and working in a collaborative community within the HSE Bell Bay team, you will:
- Provide advice and support to improve health and safety performance and prevent injury and illness of team members across the operation
- Conduct periodic health surveillance
- Ensure role specific medical equipment is in calibration.
- Complete data collection and recording of health information and manage this within the relevant medical information databases (Cority)
- Maintain stocks of medical consumables
- Complete PPE fit testing (Respirators and Ear plugs/muffs)
- Coordinate and deliver health and wellbeing promotion activities based on site needs
- Conduct Health & Safety reporting functions for internal HSE management system requirements
- Support the HSE team with broader strategic initiatives such as Mental Health and wellness campaigns
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Experience in Occupational Health, preferably in mining, construction or heavy industry
- Experience in scheduling and completing Health Surveillance
- Bachelor’s degree and registration in Nursing (Other health professionals with relevant industry experience will be considered)
- Previous experience performing and interpreting Audiograms and Lung Function test – (Relevant certification desirable).
- Previous experience ear fit and mask fit testing (qualification desirable)
- Experience with Cority (or similar Electronic Medical Records System)
- Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety systems, standards and key risk management and assurance processes
- An ability to work collaboratively and engage with a variety of stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
- A high level of professionalism, customer service and attention to detail in working with team members and managing confidential medical records and matters
- A self-motivated work ethic and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Ability to time manage and prioritise tasks.
