About the role

This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to make a positive impact on the health profile of our workforce. Reporting to the Senior Advisor Occupational Health, you will be:
- Monitoring personal exposure (airborne contaminants, noise) as per our asset risk based monitoring plans and conducting associated data reporting.
- Educating, communicating and engaging with site leaders and operational personnel.
- Managing and coordinating the maintenance and calibration of monitoring equipment to NATA and Rio Tinto standards.
- Conducting on site health surveillance activities (audiometric and lung function testing), interpreting results and investigating anomalies.
- Recommending key control methods (considering the hierarchy of control) for occupational hygiene risk reduction and evaluate control effectiveness.
- Undertaking potable water and legionella monitoring, facilitating occupational hygiene workplace surveys and investigating situations of occupational over-exposure.
This role will be banded as appropriate to the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Degree qualification in Science and experience as an Occupational Hygiene Technician with certifications in Surface Ventilation Officer and Noise Officer.
- Experience with incident investigations and risk assessment techniques.
- Ability to work autonomously with strong communication, engagement and influencing skills.

Where you’ll be working
Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.
