Reporting to the Mining Superintendent you will be committed to developing a culture driven by safety, quality and continuous improvement. You will have clear accountability to drive safety first and foremost, leading the way with hazard identification, risk management and safety inspections.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Open Cut mining and your main responsibilities will be statutory inspections of the Open Cut operations to ensure all activities under areas of control conform to the requirements of the Coal Mining Safety Health Act and Regulations. Mandatory to the role are QLD OCE qualifications, S1, S2, S3, G2 and RIIENV301 – Conduct Atmospheric Testing, and Certificate of Proficiency in Mine Gases and Gas testing.

 The position is permanent fulltime, working 7/7 rotating roster. The remuneration for this staff position includes a competitive base salary, roster allowance, 13% superannuation and a performance bonus available annually.  Whether your home is near or far, Newlands Open Cut has something for you.
