Officer Category Management

Location: Perth

As an Officer Category Management, you are someone who is passionate, honest, enthusiastic, and willing to step up to the challenge of being part of an innovative and achievement driven organisation. 

The purpose of the Officer Category Management is to provide commercial support to stakeholders in order to meet business objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working proactively as part of the sustaining capex projects team to deliver commercial support to the business through an understanding and application of the following core competencies
  • Contract management - developing and applying processes, procedures, systems, and knowledge to ensure optimum commercial benefit and minimal commercial risk
  • Supplier relationship management - deliver value through effective management of strategic supplier relationships
  • Category management and strategic sourcing – provide support in building appropriate category strategies that are aligned with Fortescue business objectives and manage the end-to-end sourcing process for allocated projects
  • Negotiating – applying an effective process and an understanding of each party’s position to engage with suppliers
  • Governance and risk management - ensure business objectives are met through effective governance, compliance management and the identification, assessment, and treatment of risk
  • Analysis & reporting - effective analysis and reporting of relevant data at all stages of the procurement lifecycle
  • Business partnering and commercial acumen - create and maintain credible and trusting relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure full alignment of procurement effort with business needs and opportunities

To be successful for this role, you will be able to:

  • Previous procurement contract experience in a mining or construction environment will be advantageous
  • Demonstrate an alignment to all of Fortescue’s values
  • Effectively self-manage with an ability to efficiently manage priorities
  • Show that you are driven to build a career in Procurement
  • Show a level of resilience to challenging circumstances
  • Work effectively as a member of a results driven team
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Law or similar
