We are currently seeking an experienced Open Cut Examiner for our BYERWEN coal mine. Reporting to the Operation Superintendent, the role is responsible for the effective safe operation of the coal mine in accordance with the sites safety and health management system and relevant legislation.
Key responsibilities/duties include:
• Monitor the safe productivity of doze, load and haul activities in accordance with site procedures and legislation
• Identify non-compliance issues and apply corrective actions to rectify
• Daily pit/workplace inspections as per legislative requirements
• Adjust work plans where necessary and effectively communicate the changes to crew and others impacted by said changes
About you:
• Queensland Open Cut Examiner certificate
• Supervisor S1,2, 3 and G2 competencies
• Proven demonstrated experience as an OCE in a coal mining environment
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to effectively communicate at all levels both verbally and written.
• Coal Board Medical
• Standard 11
• Current drivers Licence (Manual)
• Strong focus on safety essential.
Byerwen Mine is located approximately 20kms west of the town of Glenden in the northern Bowen Basin and is Macmahon’s largest project on the east coast. Camp facilities are available – accommodation and meals provided.
As a part of the recruitment process for this role you may be required to complete a pre-employment medical, inclusive of laboratory drug and alcohol screen and complete a criminal history and qualification checks. Additionally, you will be asked to provide proof of working rights in Australia i.e. copy of valid Australian passport, birth certificate, citizenship certificate or current visa grant notification where applicable.
