Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The mine is currently in an exciting growth phase and this role is a key part of the team reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer. The role provides engineering support in designing, planning, scheduling and compliance of overburden, coal removal, stockpiling and dump operations. The responsibilities include:

• Produce Short term Dig and Dump Plans for Truck & Excavator operations, Bulk Push, Rehab and other ancillary activities
• Produce accurate and timely Weekly schedules/forecasts
• Daily monitoring of performance and compliance against plan, working closely with the Production team
• Support the development and alignment of mid term plans with weekly planning activities
• Work closely with the Production team across all levels to deliver safe, efficient and productive plans
• Carry out monthly reconciliations identifying performance improvement opportunities
• Undertake multi-disciplinary mining engineering projects and support functions as required

Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria:

• Demonstrated experience in an open pit coal mining environment with engineering exposure
• A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline
• Experience  in mine design and scheduling software.
• Experience in Microsoft products (Excel spreadsheets/databases)
• Well developed verbal and written communication skills to be able to communicate effectively
• The motivation and ability to be self-driven, work autonomously and successfully work to deadlines
