Our Cadia site is located in Central West New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and three hours’ drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy.
Employees have access to the area’s wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, transport and other services such as childcare.

We are looking to build our team of world-class mining engineers, to ensure stringent designs, systems and procedures are implemented, employed and maintained at Cadia.
Your role will be critical to the safety and productivity of the mine site throughout its life; therefore, you will ensure that all major hazards are monitored, reporting is completed, and procedures are followed to the highest standard.
About you:
You are a Mining Engineer with a drive to continuously learn and step out of your comfort zone. You are organised, analytical and detail orientated, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
About the role:
As part of the Continuous Improvement team, the Operational Improvement Engineer is responsible for identifying the system’s constraints and utilising business improvement methods to improve its performance in a safe manner. You will provide data to operational improvement specialists which can be used to improve performance at Cadia.
You will possess the following:
- Behaviour consistent with Newcrest values
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) upwards and to operational levels
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Data Science disciplines
- Mandatory: Current "C" class drivers’ licence
- Experience in or sound knowledge of underground Metalliferous mining.
