Operational Readiness Superintendent 

Work Location: Fortescue Centre & Bennett St. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

Role overview:

In support of Fortescue’s growing Capital portfolio, the Operational Readiness Superintendent will be responsible for improving and delivering reliable operational and maintainability outcomes as part of project execution. Key initiatives will be the continued improvement in optimising our existing infrastructure and equipment to assist on the journey to lowering our C1 cost.

Key responsibilities include:  

  • Lead and support  the Operational Readiness team to capture and optimise the operational strategy and integration of Projects.
  • Stakeholder management of internal and external stakeholders which includes contractors, consultants, and the broader Fortescue family.
  • Provide effective and strategic reporting and communications of project performance on a regular basis.
  • Relentless focus on the deliverables including agility v’s perfection.
  • Supporting the capability build for sustainable operations to safely deliver targets.

Qualification and Experience:  

  • High commitment and demonstrated safety leadership.
  • Previous people management experience, including leading large teams with excellent interpersonal awareness, able to work well with a variety of teams within the organisation.
  • Fixed plant operations and maintenance experience - preferably in complex metallurgical plants.
  • Strong experience with operational readiness practice, process and project environments.
  • Results driven, responsible and accountable. Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence and strong decision making.
  • Proven ability to solve business and operational problems with forward thinking abilities.
  • Strong SAP exposure
