Operational Reliability Engineer
Pit N Portal
Emeco is looking for an Operational Reliability Engineer to help lift asset performance across our business.
This is not a reporting role. It’s a hands-on position focused on turning data into action, improving maintenance execution, and working directly with site teams to deliver measurable reliability outcomes.
You’ll play a key role in strengthening how we plan, execute and sustain maintenance, while helping embed a consistent, practical approach to reliability across multiple operations.
Why join Emeco?
- Competitive remuneration + 12% super paid
- Fortnightly pay
- Mackay based role with site-based exposure to major mining operations
- Opportunity to shape and build a growing reliability function
- Work with a team focused on real operational outcomes, not just reporting
What you’ll be doing
- Work directly with site teams, including attending sites to improve maintenance execution and asset performance
- Turn data into clear, practical actions that reduce downtime and improve availability
- Identify and eliminate repeat failures through structured root cause analysis
- Lift planning and scheduling discipline to improve work quality and efficiency
- Support the rollout of condition-based and predictive maintenance practices
- Partner with operations to ensure reliability initiatives are actually executed on the ground
- Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors and trades on reliability thinking and decision-making
- Contribute to the ongoing development of Emeco’s Work Management and Asset Performance frameworks
What we’re looking for
- Mechanical Engineering degree or similar industry experience
- Proven experience improving asset performance in mining or heavy mobile equipment environments
- Strong understanding of maintenance work management, planning and execution
- Ability to work with data, identify trends, and translate insights into actions
- Practical, site-focused mindset - comfortable engaging directly with frontline teams
- Experience with CAT, Hitachi or Liebherr equipment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a customer environment
The opportunity
This role is suited to someone who wants to move beyond analysis and into impact.
If you’re motivated by improving how maintenance is actually executed - not just measured - and want to play a key role in lifting performance across a national fleet, we’d like to hear from you.
