We are looking for a highly experienced Operational Technology Platforms and Services Leader to lead the Operational Technology (OT) Platforms and Services team which provides delivery of services categorised as OT. Typically, it involves applications interfacing with hardware, sensors, and systems for monitoring and control in Rio Tinto Operations globally, including IoT (Internet of Things) devices and intelligent systems.
This role will form part of the leadership structure in Technology Platforms within our IS&T function, reporting to our Head of Technology Platforms. As a Senior Leader, you will provide thought leadership, strategic thinking and work with other parts of the IS&T function to transform the OT landscape. You will also be accountable for global service delivery, improvement and vendor management. You will keep abreast of new trends and best practices in technology and strive to deliver consistent and quality outcomes.
Your key accountabilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide technical leadership to the evolving Operational Technology Platforms and Services team, contributing to the technology vision, direction, and strategy
- Lead the team for Operational Technology Platforms and Services, partnerships, and external relationships
- Define and manage Operational Technology Solution Architecture and Roadmap in collaboration with Product Lines, and IS&T strategy and Enterprise Architecture functions
- Partner with Product and Project teams to increase velocity in delivery of value/business outcomes
- Manage and support the portfolio of applications categorised as Operational Technology
- Ensure platforms and services are safe, stable and secure, and that it meets the availability expectations of the business
- Approving, preparing, planning and managing new or changed services
- Manage the performance of systems and services in terms of their contribution to business outcomes, financial costs and sustainability

You will have the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in IT/Computer Science or relevant qualification
- Extensive experience in Operational Production Systems, OT Platforms and Mining technologies
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience leading and managing a highly performing team, providing vision, direction, and regular communication to all team members
- Experience driving digital transformation and business growth and development through innovation and implementation of technology
- Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated ability to communicate in both technical and business language to a diverse range of stakeholders & senior leaders
- Strong ability to influence at a senior level and at levels of the organisation
- Good understanding of Mining value chain
- DevOps experience
- Agile methodology experience would be preferred
