Operational Technology Project Engineer

About The Role

As a leader in operational technology in the coal industry, Whitehaven Coal are continually striving to expand our portfolio from systems, autonomy to safety technology solutions. A new and exciting opening is available for an OT Project Engineer at our largest mine (Maules Creek, Gunnedah NSW), to work closely with operations, contractors and suppliers. The successful applicant will provide project engineering, management and operational technology expertise.

This is a short-term contract role with high possibility of further extension/potential for a permanent position.

What You’ll Do

• Undertake proactive project management across various business improvement plans and implementation of new technology on site
• Monitor, provide progress reports and maintain relationships with various stake-holders
• Completion of all projects according to standards, meeting implementation deadlines
• Own and maintain Technology Project Management Portfolio and create SOWs for future projects

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering (or mining related technical discipline)
• Previous project management experience
• Coding experience is highly regarded
• Business acumen, analytical thinking and negotiation skills
