FIFO from Perth | 8/6 Roster | Pilbara Operations

We’re looking for an experienced Operational Technologist to join our high-performing WAIO Site Networks & Infrastructure team. This is a Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) role from Perth on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster, supporting our Pilbara operations.

About the Role

As an Operational Technologist, you’ll play a critical role in supporting and maintaining high-availability operational technology (OT) systems across multiple assets and functions. You’ll work closely with site-based teams and Perth-based Technology groups to ensure the reliability, performance, and safety of our technology infrastructure.

You’ll contribute to our mission to deliver value-adding initiatives and execute core responsibilities with excellence, including:

- Incident and Problem Management- Preventative and Corrective Maintenance- Minor Technology Works- Transition to Operations

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead by example in promoting a Zero Harm culture through field leadership, risk assessments, and critical control verifications.
  • Build strong working relationships with maintenance and production teams to support the Site Technology function.
  • Execute structured maintenance and configuration activities to ensure the reliability of OT assets.
  • Collaborate with mobile equipment and infrastructure teams to support the configuration and programming of technology devices.
  • Provide site-based insights to Perth Technology teams for risk assessments and change implementations.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving for technology-related incidents.
  • Support the deployment and integration of new technology equipment and systems.
  • Assist project teams in delivering sustainable, fit-for-purpose technology solutions.

About You

  • A Trade or Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Communications, Electronics, or Industrial Electrical.
  • A current WA ‘C’ Class driver’s licence.
  • Strong experience supporting and maintaining IT/OT systems in operational environments.

Desirable (not essential):

  • ACMA Open Cabling Licence with F, O, and C endorsements
  • Certificate III in Telecommunications
  • Cisco CCNA certification

Technical experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Fleet Management Systems – MineStar, Modular
  • Wi-Fi, LTE, and WTS Networks
  • Digital Radio Systems
  • Onboard Safety Systems – CAS, DSS
  • Fixed Networks – Fibre, LAN
  • Data Centre infrastructure (cabling, cooling, rack and access management)
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow and SAP tools
