About the role
We are looking for a Supervisor – Operations Centre to lead a team of plant controllers, mine controllers and critical asset monitoring to support our bauxite mines in Weipa and Gove to safely achieve mining targets efficiently and effectively.
This is a great opportunity to draw on your expertise in leading and mentoring an operations centre control team and be a key influencer in shaping the Brisbane OC for success. You will need to be a self-starter who thrives on achieving goals, immediate feedback and continued self-improvement and can work calmly and independently under pressure.
Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with a huge amount of responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire and keep your people safe and well.
Reporting to the Superintendent Operations Centre and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will be:
- Leading a team of plant and mine controllers and analysts to safely deliver the required tonnes and quality while considering changing priorities and conditions, mine haul lengths and equipment availability;
- Coordinating short term interval control of the bauxite value chain from mine pit to port, working closely with operational and commercial peers to resolve process bottle necks, ensure conformance to plan and maximise value in real time;
- Exercising critical problem-solving skills, ensuring downstream impact focus allowing maximise customer sentiment and internal value
- Oversee the safe and effective operation of the beneficiary and crushing circuits, supporting the OC Plant Controllers and Ship Loading teams
- Liaise with the Dynamic Scheduling team to ensure stockpile health and shipping schedules are on plan for our internal and external customers
- Ensuring the remote monitoring and control of essential utilities and non-process infrastructure;
- Championing the optimisation of automated processes to derive value throughout the supply chain
- Driving continuous improvement within the Operations Centre across all operations;
- Build process and systems to run the 3 bauxite mines as an integrated system;
- Support the future growth of the Brisbane Operations Centre.
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role you will have the following:
- Previous leadership experience ideally within an operations centre environment is highly desirable
- Previous mine or plant control experience is highly desirable
- Demonstrated people management skills
- A high level of computer literacy and excellent verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities calmly and professionally;
- Passion for continuous improvement and data driven decision making;
- Live within 45 minutes commuting distance from Brisbane CBD (All candidates must undergo a fatigue management risk assessment plan which includes travel from home to work)
