We are looking for a Operations Hydrogeologist to join our Water Resources Evaluation (WRE) team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Hydrogeologist to help drive accountability across all teams involved in mine water management.

Reporting to Robert Milton (GNAM Senior Hydrogeologist), you will be embedded within the onsite MTS team and be responsible for supporting WRE’s objectives in mitigating dewatering and water supply risks.
You will be:
- Assisting in the development of dewatering and abstraction targets and assess compliance to plan
- Communicating (both written and verbally) dewatering performance metrics, insights and actions
- Collecting, reviewing and analysing data to support and improve conceptual hydrogeology and decision making
- Contribute to the development of drilling and test pumping scopes and optimisation of dewatering strategies
This role exists on a 4:3 / 5:2 FIFO roster from Perth, with every second Monday (on the 5:2 swing) spent with colleagues in the Perth Office.

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers Fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
