Operations Specialist

Work Location: Perth based (Balcatta)

Roster: 5/2 Roster (Monday to Friday)

Based out of our new Balcatta R&D facility and reporting to the Project delivery manager, we are presently looking for an experienced Operations Specialist to supervise the operation of R&D prototypes. The role will provide operational input to an FFI project at the forefront of technology to ensure the project is safe to operate and provide input to the development of operational systems.

Key accountabilities will include: 

  • Develop Commissioning and Operating procedures
  • Lead development of fit for purpose operational systems, processes, and infrastructure. 
  • Ensure operational requirements are considered and applied.
  • Participation in process safety risk assessment studies and follow actions to completion. 
  • Advise management and provide solutions to potential operational issues. 
  • Prepare required reports and presentations. 

Experience and skills Required: 

  • Experience in mineral processing, chemical processing, ammonia production, hydrocarbon processing, hydrogen generation or similar production facility in a leading hand/senior operator level role is essential. 
  • Experience with safe handling of hazardous chemicals. 
  • Experience developing and implementing production systems, such as PTW. 
  • Experience with developing operating and commissioning procedures. 
  • Previous experience in Operations Readiness and Commissioning. 
  • Trade or Tertiary qualifications in a related field is highly desirable. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizing skills to coordinate project activities.
