Operations Technical Officer

Work Location:  Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

Roster:  8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth

Role overview:

The Operations Tech Officer will support the Christmas Creek operations team by leading process improvement with an integrated team approach. This role will be responsible for managing the operational process such as iAuditor work management and safe work instructions.

This role is a process management resource assisting in the development of standards, tools, and training for the Operations department. and works closely with Operations leadership on key operational improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan, develop, and publish operational procedures, processes and standard work instructions.
  • Manage updates and revisions to technical documents.
  • Ensure a consistent format and approach to document creation and revisions.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with maintenance SME's & engineers to ensure documentation is relevant, accurate,  and  delivers the required  results.
  • Develop and manage the Operations SharePoint ensuring all content is updated and relevant.
  • Update and Manage the Operator Qualification Training packages.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Fixed plant operations or maintenance experience
  • Technical writing experience specifically in writing the Operating Manuals and Operations Standard Work Instructions.
  • Strong communication skills
  • MS Office suite advanced experience in Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, and the ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.
  • 5S fundamental understanding
